Hangar S at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station was the original site of America's Manned Spaceflight Operations at Cape Canaveral. It is the site where all the Mercury 7 astronauts lived while preparing for their flights. This hangar is where all the spacecraft were prepared for flight, and the astronauts trained and dressed for their missions. The hangar came within a few months of demolition by NASA, but it was saved when Blue Origin offered to take it over and use for one of their logistics sites on the Cape. It was last used by NASA as a Space Shuttle booster processing support facility, which ended with the retirement of the Space Shuttle program.
